Egg My Yard fundraiser
The Lisbon Prom committee is once again hosting it’s Egg my yard fundraiser. For $30, have 30 eggs hidden in your yard the night before Easter. Orders are being accepted now through March 20. Lisbon marathon club
Lisbon Marathon Club will return this spring. The first session of Lisbon Marathon Club will begin Monday, March 18. Sign-up deadline for the club is Wednesday, March 6. Forms can be returned to Kelly Robertson. Any individuals interested in volunteering for the club can also contact Kelly at [email protected].
Spring soccer registration
Spring soccer registration is underway for Lisbon and Mount Vernon parks and recreation programs.
Deadline to register for Lisbon’s spring soccer programs is Friday, March 15. Cost to register is $30 for pre-kindergarten through first grade and $40 for second through sixth grade.
Any questions about Lisbon’s parks and recreation soccer programs, contact Lisbon City Hall at 319-455-2459. Forms are available at Lisbon School, Lisbon City Hall and online at www.cityoflisbon-ia.gov.
Mount Vernon’s parks and recreation soccer deadline is Friday, March 15 as well. Registration costs are $37 for residents and $42 for non-residents in the preschool through first grade, and $45 for residents and $50 for non-residents for the second through sixth grade programs.
Late fees of $15 will be charged for any registrations after the deadline for Mount Vernon.
Practices will begin the week of March 25 for most teams.

For youth in sixth through eighth grade girls, an information meeting on the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Soccer club will be held Monday, March 4, beginning at 7 p.m. at Mount Vernon Middle School Commons. Coaches Nikki Ciha and Josh Ford will present information on the club and collect insurance waivers from interested players that evening.

MV fifth grade musical
The Mount Vernon fifth graders will present the musical Joust! A Mighty Medieval Musical Tuesday, March 5, at he Mount Vernon Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.
Mount Vernon Java Jazz coming up
Tickets are now on sale for Java Jazz at Mount Vernon High School. The event is Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m. in the Mount Vernon High School gymnasium. Tickets for tables in the main area are available at mchstheatre.ludus.com. This is a fundraiser for the music programs at Mount Vernon Schools.
Feminine hygiene products drive
The Lisbon National Honor Society is hosting a feminine hygiene products drive at the Lisbon High School dance showcase on March 2 at 7 p.m. NHS are collecting pads, tampons, and girls underwear size 6, 8, and 10 for nurse Julie Light’s office. All items must be brought in a sealed box or package. If you are unable to attend and would like to donate, you can drop items off in the high school office.
Yard clean-up
The Lisbon high school student council will be offering to do spring yard clean up for senior citizens in the Lisbon community. If you are interested, please contact J’nee Reade at [email protected] or call 319-455-2106. Please RSVP by the end of March.
