Lisbon advanced to a Class 1A District semifinal, but lost to Dunkerton, 54-42, on Thursday, Feb. 15, in Dunkerton.
The Lions trailed by two at the half, 23-21, but the Raiders just expanded their lead in the second half.
Dunkerton (19-4) advanced to play Maquoketa Valley (18-4) on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in Oelwein.
Lisbon closed at 12-11.
The Lions did get a district win, topping Central City, 64-47, on Monday, Feb. 12.
The game was tied after three quarters, 43-43, but the Lions won the final quarter, 21-4.
“In the fourth quarter we did a little more switching on defense,” Lisbon coach Levi Montague said. “That allowed us to stay in front of their guards better and tried to force them to take contested shots from outside.”
The Wildcats only had one offensive rebound in the fourth quarter.
Montague said everyone chipped in during that big fourth quarter, led by Grayson Wollum with a 3-pointer and a dunk. Mason Lehmer had a steal and lay-up and Michael Gadberry had a driving layup.
The Lions were also 10-of-12 from the foul line in the fourth quarter against Central City (9-13).
