City hall sign approved
The City of Lisbon also approved an electronic sign for outside Lisbon City Hall.
The sign will be installed by Rickard’s Sign and Design of Lisbon sometime later this spring or early summer.
Daktronics will provide the screens that are being installed for the sign, and members of city staff will be responsible for the announcements that are displayed on the screen.
The sign will be paid for with $25,000 of Local Option Sales and Service Taxes.
It’s been an item that’s been under discussion for the City of Lisbon at different times for the past decade.
“We’ve been discussing this for more than a decade, it’s time we move to approve this,” said council member John Bardsley.
Janitorial services shared by SELCC, Library
Janitorial services will be shared by Southeast Linn Community Center and Lisbon Library.
SELCC’s janitor agreed to help with the cleaning of the adjacent Lisbon Library space moving forward. As such, the city will pay the amount they have budgeted to SELCC for janitorial services and the janitor will take care of both spaces.
Council member John Bardsley asked if the employee needs to be a city employee?
City clerk Christina Eicher said that the employee would be a contracted employee, and SELCC would be responsible for expenses like disability and FICA.
Employees honored for years of service
The city also honored Barb Geizner and Amy White for their years of service to the city at the Lisbon Public Library. Amy White has retired after 34 and a half years of service, while Geizner worked for the library for 31 years.
