I’ve had less stressful weeks as an editor, not going to lie.
But then the dust settled and I realized I still have a job here doing what I love.
Jason Brummond, our new publisher, is outlining the big news from the front of our newspaper last week, and what he expects with this acquisition.
The thing I want you all as readers to know – we’re still here and still working on covering these communities and their stories. We see the importance of this community newspaper and keeping up with the bustling communities of Mount Vernon and Lisbon.
That will not change. This newspaper’s focus will remain local first, on the news that you can only find in these communities first.
That being said – It’s going to be a rough couple of weeks as we move from how things were done in the past. Emails that we’ve had for several years might be migrating to a different domain, and countless other small changes that come with any acquisition.
Please be patient with that aspect. Working with a new team and getting into their workflow when we’ve been used to a different content management system for so long will take a little bit of time. I have utmost confidence in our new layout team to deliver a high-quality product, much like Woodward’s designers in Dubuque did.
