Mount Vernon Girls wrestling youth camp
Mount Vernon girls’ wrestling youth camp will be held Thursday, Feb. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Middle School gymnasium. The camp is to introduce youth girls to the sport of wrestling, help develop fundamental technique and continue to trailblaze and grow the sport of wrestling. The cost is $20 per athlete, and each athlete will receive a t-shirt. Cash or checks made to MV Girls Wrestling Club are important. Any questions, contact coach Trevor Trende at 563-203-2036. Camp registrations are due by Thursday, Feb. 15, to guarantee a camp t-shirt.
Young Parents Network presents “The Incredible Years”
Young Parents Network is holding a series of classes called “The Incredible Years” every Tuesdays from now through April 9 at Lisbon Early Childhood Center West (950 Commercial Street, Suite B). The programs feature a light meal, free childcare during the programming and free diapers and other resources for parents. Classes run from 6 to 8 p.m. Families will learn tools to help their children develop social emotional and behavioral skills to be successful. The class is open to any parents with children aged infant to 18 living in Linn County. Parents are encouraged to sign up for the classes they will be able to attend as well as give a headcount for those attending the meal or needing childcare. Roarin’ Jazz Night
Lisbon’s Roarin’ Jazz Night is tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 9) at Lisbon Auditorium. Performances by the Lisbon Jazz Band, choirs and other musical variety groups will be held. A silent auction will also be held in the second floor of the auditorium. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the music programs at Lisbon Schools.
