An article related to the Mount Vernon Superintendent search in the January 25 edition of the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun contained numerous inaccuracies.
The Ray and Associates superintendent search firm received 20 viable candidates for consideration, and the search firm narrowed that list to 11 candidates for the Board to review. The Board then identified six candidates they wished to interview. The Board interviewed those six candidates in closed session last week, coming to the final three candidates for the position. Lori Merlak and Sherry Grunder, past school board members, were not part of any of the closed session meetings on the matter.
The Sun apologizes for the errors.
