The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group (CDG) has announced an after-hours “Entrepreneuza” event, part of CDG’s after-hours networking and Education series of events, to take place Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Glyn Mawr Winery – The Local, 103 1st St, NW, Mount Vernon.
The program will be led by CDG Board Member Dennis Jordan who will offer the results of a 10-question survey of 49 local businesses that took place in 2023. The evening will include a discussion of the responses of local businesses and how CDG’s Economic Vitality (EV) committee plans to address those survey responses.
“This EV committee wanted to compile and share the results of this survey with the community,” said CDG Director Joe Jennison. “We collected these surveys last summer and this committee spent the latter part of 2023 compiling the results and considering how to act on suggestions made through the surveys.”
Dennis Jordan, co-chair of the EV Committee, added “One item that was heard loud and clear throughout these surveys was CDG’s need for a more robust social media presence. The CDG board has addressed that concern with the hiring of a Social Media Manager, local business owner Anna Wilson, who will be available at the event to discuss her plans for social media in 2024 and to answer questions from those in attendance.”
The event will include heavy hors d’oeuvres provided by The Plantiful Pantry. Wine, soda and beer will be available for purchase.
The event is free and open to the public, however those planning to attend should respond to Joe Jennison, for food planning purposes. To RSVP or for more information, contact Joe Jennison, CDG Director, at (319) 210-9935 or through email at [email protected]
