February The Lisbon wrestling team was conference champions and sent nine athletes to the state tournament in February. Mount Vernon also sent nine wrestlers to the state tournament. Brandon Paez and Wyatt Smith were named champions at the meet, and coach Brad Smith and coach Kyle Jaspers were recognized at the event. The Mustangs placed third overall, the Lions placed sixth.
Mount Vernon, Lisbon and Springville were forming a AYSO Soccer Club for interested athletes.

April The Mount Vernon girls track squad had six participants in the Drake Relays — Cali Whitaker in the 100-meter dash, Paige Schurbon in the high jump, Libby Dix in the discus throw, the 4×100 meter relay squad, 4×400 meter relay squad, and the girls 800 sprint medley relay squad. For the Mount Vernon boys, Jensen Meeker and Zach Fall in the boys 400-meter dash, the boys 4×100 meter relay squad, the boys 4×200 meter relay squad, the boys 4×400 meter relay squad and the boys distance medley relay squad were qualifiers. Lisbon girls will have two events competing at the Relays – the girls 4×100 meter relay squad and Ava Czarnecki in the long jump. For Lisbon boys, Baylor Speidel in the boys 100-meter dash, Ben Morningstar in the 110-meter hurdles, Luke Czarnecki in the boys’ high jump, the boys 4×100 meter relay squad and the boys 110 meter shuttle hurdle relay qualified for Drake.
MayThe Mount Vernon boys placed fifth overall at the Drake Relays. Dix placed sixth in the discus throw, Baylor Speidel third in the boys 100 meter dash, and Luke Czarnecki was ninth in high jump with a leap of 6 feet, five inches.
Lisbon boys sent 15 events to state track, while Lisbon girls had eight events. Mount Vernon girls had 17 events to state track, and Mount Vernon boys sent nine, totaling 50 groups from Mount Vernon and Lisbon competing at the state tournament. The Mount Vernon boys and girls track teams place fifth, the Lisbon boys were the state champions, while the Lisbon girls had first place in the 4×100 relay.
The Mount Vernon-Lisbon girls tennis bowed out in regionals.
Mount Vernon Archery competed at the NASP Eastern Nationals and advanced a few archers to the Worlds competition June 9 and 10.
The Lisbon girls’ golfers were state qualifiers again this year.
JuneLisbon baseball claimed the win in a crosstown rivalry game with Mount Vernon, 5-2. The Lisbon softball game was postponed due to a rainstorm in Lisbon that same evening.

The Lisbon softball team lost to Interstate 35 and then won their consolation round against Northeast.
