Lisbon Early Childcare Center West held a ribbon cutting Monday, Dec. 4.
The daycare, according to Lisbon superintendent Autumn Pino, is now providing childcare to several families in the Mount Vernon and Lisbon community.
“We’re currently licensed to provide care for 48 children at this facility,” Pino said.
Pino said that the school and daycare centers are so appreciative of the community support they’ve had as this project has been explored, and the members of the Lisbon School Board for being proactive and interested in pursuing an expansion for the daycare offerings. That also extends to the Sill family and John and Cassidy Reinken of Budget Blinds for the rental of the space.
“I also have to commend the work of Kelly Brown and Bre Ties for all the additional work they put into getting this daycare center ready and open this school year,” Pino said.
The school board approved LECC West at a July school board meeting, and the daycare had a soft opening in October before opening to more families. At December’s meeting, a number of new hires were approved for the daycare to cover the busiest times for the daycare – before and after school.
