Speidel, Swart honored
Lisbon Coach Lonnie Speidel was named the Class 1A Boys’ Track & Field Coach of the Year.
Speidel led the Lions to the 1A title in the spring.
Mount Vernon-Lisbon cross country coach Kory Swart earned Class 3A At-Large Coach of the Year for girls’ track and also for girls’ cross country.
Gazette all-area volleyball Mount Vernon junior Chloe Meester was selected as the Player of the Year by the Cedar Rapids Gazette.
She was also on the All-Area team, along with Mount Vernon junior Sydney Huber and Lisbon senior Ava Czarnecki.
