Mount Vernon alum Amy Friedl-Stoner will be performing a “Homes for the Holiday” concert at First Street Community Center Saturday, Dec. 9.
“I’m so excited to be back at the First Street Community Center performing my holiday show because performing for so many friends and family in my hometown is always special to me,” Friedl-Stoner said. “The FSCC auditorium is a great space with wonderful sound. It’s the perfect size for an intimate holiday show.”
She said that the show this year will feature a mix of holiday classics and a few non-Christmas tunes.
“The last time I performed at the First Street building was in 2019 with my Fleetwood Mac tribute show, so we’ll be doing at least one Fleetwood song just for fun,” Freidl-Stoner said. “The rest of the show is stories and songs about the holidays.”
Friedl-Stoner last performed in Mount Vernon as part of the Mount Vernon High School Choir’s Christmas show in the Performing Arts Center in 2021.
“I’m hoping to partner with the choir in the future on other performances, and I loved having them be a part of my show at the Paramount,” Freidl-Stoner said.
Tickets are going fast for the holiday show and available by calling Mike Smith at 319-361-8193. They are $25 each.
If you miss a chance to catch Friedl-Stoner’s show in Mount Vernon, she also has a New Year’s Eve show with Theatre Cedar Rapids, with tickets available at TheatreCR.org.
