The Martha Parsons Family Activity Complex will now be available for use for the community.
The track will be open to the community for running and walking, utilizing lanes five through eight.
“We ask that you pay attention to the signs as to what is and is not allowed when using the track area,” superintendent Dr. Greg Batenhorst said.
The main item that is not allowed on the facility – pets.
The field is also available for limited use for workouts, but people are again asked to be mindful of what is allowed.
Concession and restroom facilities are being closed for the winter, including draining the water lines and winterizing the buildings.
Organized teams who want to use the facility for some form of workout or practice must rent the facility from the school district.
Groups of kids are allowed to play on the field, as long as they are respectful of the facility, do not cause any damage, and do not play around with any of the equipment on and around the field.
“We encourage adult supervision of any such kid groups, but if you allow your kids to play on the field, please speak with them about the expectations for using the facility respectfully,” Batenhorst said.
The facility will be closed if a significant amount of snow accumulates on the track.
“We look forward to many great days ahead in the new facility, and appreciate your cooperation in protecting this valuable investment while we leave it open for public use,” Batenhorst said.
