On a warm Tuesday afternoon, the sound of three bands continued the tradition of the Hwy. 1 Marching Band Classic, this year in Solon.
There was no admission charge, and three of the schools along Hwy. 1 – Lisbon, Mount Vernon and Solon – participated in this year’s marching band festival.
Solon kicked the show off with their band highlighting music from several popular fantasy franchises, including “Lord of the Rings” and “How to Train Your Dragon.”
Lisbon was next, taking the field with their program which included the music of Stevie Wonder.
Mount Vernon concluded the afternoon with a presentation of their program “Immortal.”
Drum majors from Mount Vernon, Lisbon and Solon work at conducting the National Anthem during the Hwy. 1 Marching Band Classic Tuesday, Oct. 10.
