It was mostly treats at the third annual Trunk or Treat event at Lester Buresh Family Community Wellness Center in Mount Vernon Sunday, Oct. 22.
The event drew a much larger number of vehicles participating, with many from the Mount Vernon High School offering booths and cars with decorations this year.
There were also more than 300 youth and families who trickled in for the event in Mount Vernon, with ranges of homemade costumes to their own original ideas. With temperatures in the 50s and bright sunshine, it was a pleasant day to be attending the event.
There were awards, offered by White Tree Bakery, to the first and second place themed trunks decorated for the event. Saint Paul Lutheran Church’s Star Wars themed trunk with the ability for families to get photos taken in the forest of Endor as a backdrop placed first, while the LBC’s Price is Right trunk placed second in the event.
