Freshman volleyball
Mount Vernon beat Marion 2-0 on Oct. 3 to finish 6-0 in the Wamac. Hayden Gookin, Brynlee Bettcher, Alivia Truitt (kills) and Mavrik Schweer (dig) led the way. Alaina Pospisil, Ava Willems and Madi Hoffert also had good seasons.
Then Mount Vernon topped Regina 3-0 on Oct. 9.
Coach Amber Hess cited Avri Trumblee-Looney and Lilly Hotz for their energy on and off the bench.
