Rain couldn’t stop the Washington Elementary Walk fundraiser, only slightly delay it.
The event, originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 6, at Washington Elementary had to be rescheduled to Wednesday, Oct. 11, due to rain and cold conditions hroughout the day Oct. 6.
Students took to the Washington Elementary track Wednesday morning to a score of popular music throughout the morning, while volunteers with Washington Elementary Teachers and Parents provided water to those walking.
More than $15,000 was raised for the fundraiser for Washington Elementary Schools as part of the event.
And the rain held off for the entirety of the event, before returning with gusto Wednesday evening through Saturday in the area.
