Cub Scout Pack 54 in Lisbon and Cub Scout Pack 40 and Boy Scout Troop 40 will be participating in Scouting for Food.
New this year, scouts will just be hanging a door hanger notification on the pick up/event information (delivery of those door hangers is Oct 21). Food donation pickup is Saturday, Oct 28. Residents can use boxes or their own bags for their donations, they just need to be placed in a visible spot from the roadway or pick-up.
The food donations are delivered to Southeast Linn Community Center and distributed locally.
Nicole McAlexander, director of SELCC, said that top food needs currently are canned meats (chicken, tuna, salmon), beef stew, beef ravioli, chili with beans, tomato soup and pasta sauce.
Top household needs include toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels, hand soap and body wash.
“We ask that residents have their food donations in a visible spot from the road and be ready for pickup by 9 a.m. Saturday, October 28,” said Michael Reiling, scoutmaster.
