Ben Bach and Izzy Schmidt were crowned Homecoming Royalty at the Cornell Pep Rally Friday, Oct. 5, as part of the homecoming festivities.
The evening kicked off with a performance by the Cornell Rams Cheerleading and dance team, and recognition for all athletics teams at Cornell before the coronation.
Other members of the court included Payton Douglas, Cheyenne Greenwald, Alejandra Villegas-Tshuma, Hunter Holt and Audrey Pagel.
The evening concluded with a drone show, replacing the fireworks show for this year.
The drones highlighted the Cornell Logo, Ulysses the Ram and Rams, as well as the year 2023 in the sky, as well as a scene of a football being kicked through goalposts and ensuing ffireworks displayed with flying drones.
It was a busy weekend for Cornell’s homecoming, with many athleticc events happening Friday and Saturday at Cornell’s campus. The football team picked up a 36-24 victory against Beloit Saturday afternoon. Women’s tennis picked up nine wins against Ripon and Lawrence, and the volleyball team won in three sets against Ripon.
