Construction to the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police Department is on track currently, according to Mount Vernon Lisbon Police Chief Doug Shannon.
“Painters are there now doing work to the new addition, and they’re working on the framing and shingling of the garage addition,” Shannon said.
Paving is slowly working its way to the new garage addition.
Council member Stephanie West asked how the change orders have impacted the budget on this project.
City administrator Chris Nosbisch said change orders have amounted to roughly $36,000, placing the project at a $1.142 million, a little more expensive than the $1.1 million original price tag.
“To put this in perspective, the Lester Buresh Family Community Wellness Center had more than 70 change orders over the course of construction, and this has only had a few,” Nosbisch said.
The garage should be completed before December, when work moves on to the locker room addition.
