Lisbon and Mount Vernon Parks and Recreation girls basketball registration deadlines coming upThe Lisbon and Mount Vernon parks and recreation girls’ basketball programs have registration deadlines coming up.
Deadline for the Lisbon parks and recreation girls’ basketball teams are Friday, Sept. 29. Athletes in third through sixth grades can register for a team. Registration forms are available at Lisbon City Hall or www.cityoflisbon-ia.gov.
Games for both teams are scheduled for Saturday mornings in November and December.
Cost is $41 for the teams, which includes a reversible micro mesh jersey (or $26 if the athlete has an existing jersey they plan to use).

Mount Vernon parks and recreation girls’ basketball teams can be signed up for at mtvernon.recdesk.com. Cost is $45 for residents and $50 for non residents.
Enrollment end date for the third through sixth grade girls programs are Oct. 13, with coaches meetings to be held in mid October for the teams.
Games will be played against Lisbon, Anamosa, Springville, Solon and Mount Vernon teams beginning Nov. 11 and concluding Dec. 16.

Raptology returningThe crew from Raptology will be returning to Palisades Kepler State Park Saturday, Sept. 30. The event will be held at Pavilion 1 at Palisades Kepler State Park at 11 a.m.
Music boosters soup supperThe Lisbon Music Boosters will be holding a soup supper during homecoming week at Lisbon Schools. The supper, serving soup and chili, baguette, dessert (choice of pie) and a variety of drinks will be held at Lisbon Community School Cafeteria from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28. Price is $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and students in alternative kindergarten through sighth grade. Preschool and under aged children eat free.
The supper will benefit the music programs at Lisbon Schools.

School blood driveThe Lisbon High School will be hosting a blood drive Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 2:30 to 6;30 p.m. at the high school cafeteria. Please eat and hydrate before donating.
