Brecke Construction is aware of the dust issues as work has continued on the water main projects in the downtown.
“They’ve heard complaints about it and they’re trying to take additional effort to keep the dust down in the future,” said city engineer David Schechinger.
The crews have also closed a few blocks of Washington Street south of School Street, which has impacted access as that water main gets fixed.
“We’ve been in communication with the school and make sure that they have access to and from the building at most times,” Schechinger said. “Crews are doing some of the work that closes that stretch of road to the weekends while school is in session.”
They are also working to not impact the school’s construction project, slated to begin in the next few weeks.
City administrator Brandon Siggins said the city will do as much as they can to help traffic flow be as smooth as possible, especially with home football games at Lisbon Schools.
