Auditions for the Cornell Choirs coming upCornell College Choirs are having open auditions Aug. 29, Aug. 30 and Aug 31 at Ringer Recital Hall in Armstrong building. Rehearsals with the choir are Mondays through Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:20 and 4:30 to 5:20 p.m. Community members are welcome to join the choir. Cornell College Symphonic Band The Cornell College Symphonic Band is returning, with the first practice scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5, beginning at 7 p.m. Auditions will be held ahead of time. Final home
football game at First Street fieldAny Mount Vernon band alumni are being asked to dust off their instruments for the final home football game at First Street Community Center field Friday, Sept. 15.
Alumni members will march with the band down the hill and stand with the band to perform the final playing of the national anthem and school fight song.
A rehearsal will also be held Monday, Sept. 11, for those able to attend and practice with the current band. Final performance t-shirts will also be ordered to be worn.
