Mount Vernon and Lisbon students returned to classrooms Wednesday, Aug. 23. Both Mount Vernon and Lisbon Schools held “meet your teacher” activities Tuesday, Aug. 22, with some minor changes. The Popsicles on the playground event which was to be held at the Washington Elementary School playgrounds moved indoors to both the elementary and middle school, due to the heat outdoors Tuesday, Aug. 22. A back to school barbecue at Lisbon City Parks also offered a take and go option for families instead, to mitigate time spent out in the heat.
