Lemuel Dale Dudley, “Dale” 88 passed away Thursday, Aug. 10 at Hallmark Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
A family-led visitation was held Monday, Aug. 14, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Birkwood Village, 308 2nd Ave. in Toledo. A family-led graveside service will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. North 2nd Street, in Merkel, Texas.
Dale was born at home in rural Taylor County, Texas to Lemuel Albert and Alice Elizabeth (Fuller) Dudley, Feb. 21, 1935. He graduated from Merkel High School in Merkel, Texas and served in the Texas National Guard. Dale married his high school sweetheart Mona Beth Thomas and from this union, three children were born.
The Hereford business took Dale and his family around the country before settling in Tama where he retired and became an entrepreneur and jack of all trades. His favorite pastime was rooting for the Green Bay Packers and watching his great grandchildren’s sporting events. His hobbies included woodworking, going to garage sales and helping anyone that needed help.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dana (Kim) Ingerslev of The Villages, Fla., Scott (Mara) Dudley of Llano, Texas and daughter-in-law, Krislynn Dudley, of Oxford, Ohio; grandchildren, Taya (Tyler) Roos , Kiley (Brandon) Boesenberg all of Lisbon; Sarah (Jim) Dorsen of Manhattan, Kan.; Nathan (Colleen) Dudley of Llano, Texas; Nicole (Kevin) Carr of Oxford, Ohio; Alice (Halden) Schwallie of Mentor, Ohio; Great grandchildren, Paige, Alexa and Quinn Roos, Caiden and Eli Boesenberg, Madelyn Dorsen, baby boy Dudley due in September, Hadley and Iam Carr, Greysen and Reid Schwallie, sister-in-law, Pat Dudley, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his son, David Thomas Dudley, sister Doris Jean Dudley Church, brother Don Fuller Dudley, brother-in-law, Marvel Charles (MC) Church.
Dale was loved by many and had a great love of life.
