More Than I Imagined profileAbigail Larson, a religion and multimedia journalism and mass communication double major from Lisbon and Augustana College 2023 graduate was nominated to submit a ‘More Than I Imagined’ profile by Dr. Jason Mahn, professor of religion.
Annually, faculty nominate Augustana’s seniors who have achieved remarkable academic or personal growth to appear in the college’s ‘More Than I Imagined’ series.
During her junior year Larson served as a hospice volunteer — accompanying people who were dying — as part of a Suffering, Death and Hope class.
“Beside her courage to do this difficult, important work, Abigail has reflected deeply on these and other ‘threshold’ experiences,” he said. “Her academic and emotional intelligence shone through again in her Senior Inquiry project, which drew on religious and philosophical wisdom to think about mortality and lives worth living. I am heartened to know that wise, attentive graduates like Abigail are tomorrow’s ministers and community leaders!”
