MVLCT is thrilled to announce auditions for Macbeth, our third annual Shakespeare in the Park, directed by K Michael Moore.
Although this tale of murder and madness is gory and fantastical, it ultimately shines a bright light on our darker natures. To what lengths would you go to achieve your desires?
Auditions will be held Sunday, June 25 from 2 — 4 p.m. and Monday, June 26, from 7 — 9 p.m. at the First Street Community Center in Mount Vernon. Actors will only need to attend one night of auditions. If necessary, callbacks will be Tuesday, June 27.
You are encouraged, but not required to prepare a monologue (memorized or book in hand). We will have sides available and the auditions will be in a group format, so expect to stay for the duration. This will be a large cast and we will have verse coaching available throughout the rehearsal process, so we encourage actors of all levels of experience to audition.
While we would prefer to see you in person, you may also submit a video audition to [email protected] before midnight on June 27. Video auditions should be a monologue, in verse, 1-2 minutes in length.
You may fill out an in-person audition form the night of your audition, or you may complete our online audition form ahead of time.
Performance dates are September 7-9 and 14-16 at the outdoor stage at historic Memorial Park in Mount Vernon.
