q and a sessionLester Buresh Family Community Wellness Center will host an art installation celebration Friday, June 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate the installation of Christine Rebhuhn’s art piece. Light hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be available.
Rebhuhn will also be presenting a question-and-answer session about the artwork Tuesday, June 20, at LBC. Joe Jennison will be the moderator for the event.
Dress rehearsal
of “Lend me
A Tenor” The Mount Vernon High School cast of “Lend Me a Tenor” will be holding a free dress rehearsal tonight (Thursday, June 15) at Mount Vernon Performing Arts Center as a send off for the cast taking the show to the International Thespian Festival. The show starts at 7 p.m.

the Lisbon
library plant saleFriends of the Lisbon Public Library will be hosting their annual plant sale Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17. Friday hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday’s hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds benefit programming at the library.
Cole Library closed through June 23Cole Library is closed now through June 23 as roofers work on making needed repairs to the Cole Library. If you have material checked out from the library, return them after Cole Library opens it’s doors. All programming at the library is on hiatus this week due to the closure.
Bulky item
clean up dayLisbon’s Bulky Item Clean-Up day is set for Saturday, June 24 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Lisbon residents can drop off large itemsat the city shop. Vehicles should approach from Market Street headed east tot he city shop. No tires or trees will be accepted. Appliances are limited to two per household or business. Tanning beds need to go to the city shop with bulbs removed. Electronics can be dropped off at Lisbon City Hall. Vehicles should enter from Washington Street and exit via the alley. Batteries of any type are not accepted.
No hazardous materials will be accepted.
Any material usually deposited i garbage bags, construction materials, burn barrels and ash, and large commercial appliances are also not accepted. The City of Lisbon and Johnson County Refuse reserve the right to refuse any items on day of drop-off.
