Cole Library is getting a new roof. What does that mean for you?
The library will be closed from June 15 until June 23. When you receive your copy of the Sun, the library may already be closed because the roofers are ahead of schedule. No rain is good for roof replacements.
So, when I say that we will reopen on June 23, that is an informed guess based on weather, cranes, and other variables.
We will take our laptops home and post to the public library’s Facebook page (Mount Vernon Public Library) and our website (www.colelibrary.org) to keep you updated.
During this time, please do NOT put items in the drop box. Keep them until we reopen. This will be a big help. We never charge overdue fines, so don’t worry about that issue.
If you need to visit a library during our closure, Cole Public Library participates in Open Access. This is a State Library funded program that allows you to use any public library in Iowa free of charge. You will need to get a library card for the particular library you visit, but that too is free. You can also check out materials using our online resources: Bridges and Hoopla. These can be found on our webpage under “Resources”, then “EBooks & Entertainment”.
Summer Reading programs that are being interrupted by this project have been rescheduled or will be rescheduled soon. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the library.
