MVHPC’s decisionsWith the ongoing discussions regarding various issues that come to the Mount Vernon Historic Preservation Committee (MVHPC), I felt compelled to voice an opinion in support. We have lived in our home in the Ash Park Historic district for 22 years. We moved here for the historic preservation this area has and respects. It is one of the things that helps Mount Vernon retain it’s small town charm. We support and respect the guidelines of the committee and knew that was a part of the purchase of our home all those years ago. There are neighborhoods in Mount Vernon that fall under the rules and regulations of an HOA as well. As a homeowner, in either situation, you may not always agree or like the guidelines, but you know going in to the purchase of these homes that this will be a part of your decision making when making improvements to your home.
We are proud to live in the Ash Historic district of Mount Vernon and appreciate the safeguarding of the MVHPC.
