Lisbon art students earned awards at the Tri-Rivers Art competition in judging completed in late April.
The contest was held virtually again this year.
Organizer Emily Horak of Springville said there were a total of 415 entries in more than 25 categories of art. Twelve of the Tri-Rivers Conference Schools competed in this year’s festival.
Judges were Denise Murphy of Mount Vernon Creates Art Gallery, Robert Murphy and Mark Weiser of DWK Gallery.
“We appreciate you allowing us to view your works of art,” the judges wrote. “We loved seeing the variety of mediums, color and creativity. There are so many wonderful pieces to see. As judges we take into account many factors while judging, i.e. techniques, category. creativity, unique ideas/originality and the overall piece. We hope you enjoyed making these pieces and the most important part is to keep creating.”
Placing in the event from Lisbon were:
Digital manipulation/film – first place Brandon Paez and Junior Krob and second place Olivia Mitchell.
Oils – third place Riley Boots.
