The Lisbon Lions held their second — and final — home event of the week — and season — last Thursday.
It would also be the final home meet for girls coach Casey Baxa, who will retire at the end of the season.
The girls and boys teams each rose to the occasion by coming in first place.
“It was nice to get the girls a team win for the first time on their own home track,” said Coach Baxa.
“Peyton Robinson and Gabi Moehlman have been a huge part with the junior class, from bringing our program from being non-existent to viable in a few short years,” he said.
Boys coach Lonnie Speidel was also happy with the results.
“We didn’t stack events Tuesday or Thursday, so to finish runner-up Tuesday and meet champions on Thursday, I was pleased with our efforts both meets,” Speidel said.
Lisbon boys had first place finishes from Baylor Speidel in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.81, Ben Morningstar in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.25, the 4×100 meter relay squad of Morningstar, Luke Czarnecki, Tiernan Boots and Baylor Speidel with a time of 43.47, the 4×200 meter relay squad of Dakota Clark, Reid Fridley, Boots and Baylor Speidel with 1:32.38, and the 4×100 shuttle hurdle relay squad of Morningstar, Luke Czarnecki, Cohen Kamaus and Gage Holub with a time of 1:01.96.
