The Lisbon varsity girls golf team has been steamrolling the competition in the early part of their 2023 campaign, coming out of the gates to a 3-0 start.
Monday, April 10Things kicked off last Monday, with the Lions easily managing a visit from the Midland Eagles by a resounding 175-245.
Kaylie Kelchen was a beacon for the home team, with a score of 41 that won the day. Teammates Karlee Luneckas and Brooke Ellyson were right behind, tying at second place with a pair of 42s.
Tuesday, April 11 The team traveled to take on North Linn at Three Elms Golf Course, prevailing over their hosts 184-252.
Kaylie Kelchen again nabbed the lowest score of the day with a 41, with Karlee Luneckas again nearby with a 44, enough for second place.
Friday, April 14A 190-224 Friday night road win over the North Cedar Knights capped off a successful week for the Lions, who improved to 3-0 with the effort.
In what’s becoming a familiar refrain, Kaylie Kelchen took the day with a score of 44 in the nine-hole event, with teammate Karlee Luneckas again not far way with a second-place 46. Nor, for that matter, was Brooke Ellyson, who posted a 48.
