Citizens in Lisbon could have boil warning and boil orders as work on water mains move forward.
Public works director Travis Bagby said that door hangers will be going out to citizens in early April.
A boil warning is a recommendation by the City that citizens might want to boil any water until samples are back and water is determined all clear.
A boil order is a mandate that citizens need to boil any water until the samples get the all clear.
“If we shutdown a main for a block one day, when we make the connection to the new main, we’ll be able to pull a sample minutes after the new main is online,” Bagby said. “We then need to take water tests for two more days and as long as we get clear tests for three days in a row, then we get the all clear again.”
The water main projects will impact residents along Washington Street, Jackson Street, Market Street, parts of School Street, and First and Second Avenues.
Water main projects will start soon
