Cornell came up empty on the road Saturday, dropping a 9-0 women’s tennis dual to Central inside Kuyper Athletics Complex.
The Rams (9-10) were in several matches, including taking 13 total games in doubles play. Cornell’s No. 1 tandem of Makayla Johnson and Wies Kleingeld came up short by an 8-5 margin, while No. 2 pair Kylie Jacobson and Audrey Small lost by the same score.
Small took Jenna Hernandez to three sets at No. 3 singles. The freshman was edged 6-3, 4-6, 10-8.
Central (6-10) won the remaining five singles matches in straight sets. No. 1 player Johnson dropped a tight 7-5, 6-4 decision. Kleingeld lost 6-2, 7-5 at the No. 2 slot.
