Cornell’s baseball team surrendered six unearned runs to Stockton (N.J.), which was ultimately the difference in Friday’s 11-5 loss at Lake Myrtle Park.
Coach Robbie Dombrowski’s Rams finished 5-3 over spring break in central Florida, highlighted by four straight wins to start the trip.
Shortstop James Kent clubbed a two-run homer to right field that gave the Rams a 5-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning. It was the seventh extra-base hit of the season for Kent, who went 2-for-4 with a run.
The Ospreys rallied for five runs in the bottom of the fifth to go ahead 6-5. Stockton then pulled away by plating four unearned runs in the seventh.
Leadoff hitter Seth Beals went 2-for-5 with a double and a run. Colin Gierula had a hit and two RBIs. Vince Zipperer and Darren Mancke both added a double.

Against St. Norbert,Cornell senior pitcher Kole Hinrichsen crafted a complete-game one-hit shutout in Thursday’s 5-0 Game 1 baseball win over St. Norbert at Lake Myrtle Park.
The Rams were one out away from securing a sweep when St. Norbert connected for a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to win the nightcap, 5-3.
Hinrichsen (2-1) was his dominant self on the hill, recording the team’s first shutout win since May 2021. The right-hander struck out 10 and issued just one walk over seven stress-free innings.
The Rams were in control for most of Game 2, leading 3-1 in the fourth after a two-run homer by Drew Logel, his team-high third of the season. Logel accounted for all three of the team’s RBIs.

Against Ohio Northern, third baseman Colin Gierula accounted for two of Cornell’s five hits, including a two-out RBI single that plated Vince Zipperer for the game’s initial run.
Ohio Northern forged ahead 2-1 with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth. The Polar Bears added an insurance run with two outs in the seventh.
Seth Beals, Drew Logel and Zipperer had one hit apiece for the Rams. Zipperer doubled in the first for Cornell’s lone extra-base hit.
Cornell starting left-hander Will Miller yielded six hits and three earned runs over six innings. Preston Wright and Carter Kriegel combined to pitch 3.0 scoreless innings in relief.
Against Greenville, junior Patrick Montagna tossed seven impressive innings in his first Cornell pitching start as the Rams cruised to their fourth straight victory, 8-1, over Greenville Monday afternoon.
The Rams boosted their record to 6-2 overall, including a 4-0 mark at the halfway point of their Florida trip.
Montagna faced only five batters over the minimum, yielding five hits and striking out six. The right-hander’s only blip was an RBI double in the first inning that put Greenville ahead 1-0. Montagna followed that with six consecutive shutout innings before his work was done.
Drew Logel provided all the support Montagna would need with a towering two-run homer to left field in the top of the second. Logel was 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs and two RBIs.
Josiah Shaw delivered a two-run double in the fourth, and later scored in the inning on a wild pitch that pushed the lead to 5-1.
