The City of Lisbon approved the construction of a pavilion at the new Lisbon Sports complex this summer.
City administrator Brandon Siggins said that he had estimated roughly $100,000 for the project, and bids came in much lower than that.
Dutch Brothers had the lowest bid, $55,580.
“That bid does not include electrical, water or sewer connections the city will need to run, nor some of the amenities for items like the bathroom,” Siggins said. “I’m happy where the bids came in for construction on this project.”
Siggins said that the building will be wood and metal, not the cinder blocks of the current shelter house at the park
“We’ll be designing a shelter house and larger concession stand with cinder blocks as part of the next phase of the project,” Siggins said.
Construction will start on the pavilion this spring, with hope for the project to be completed by summer.
Siggins said he was hopeful it could be completed before Sauerkraut Days and the new sports complex may be used for the ice cream social and fireworks show.
Council member Sara Nost wondered if there was a way to begin fundraising to help with the next phase of the park.
