Sophomore Katie Lammers was victorious in the women’s 3000-meter run, pacing the Rams at Saturday’s Liz Wuertz Invitational hosted by Wartburg.
Lammers clocked a winning time of 10:41.61, beating her nearest competitor by 33 seconds.
Sidney Brown placed in three events, which included the lead leg on the third-place 4×400 relay (4:16.15) with Ava Claussen-Tubbs, Alyza Koppes and Hailey Carolan. Brown was third in the high jump (4-7) and eighth in the 200 (26.81). Carolan finished fifth in the 60 hurdles (10.08).
Cornell’s men landed three of the top eight finishers in the 800. Freshman Thomas Coble led the group in fourth place (1:58.61), followed by Isaak Hutchings in seventh (1:59.36) and Fisher Isaacson eighth (1:59.47).
Gavin Soukup ran leadoff on the runner-up 4×400 relay that was timed in 3:32.64 with teammates Coble, Isaacson and Hutchings.
The Rams scored 25 points for sixth place in the women’s team standings. The men tallied 28 points for fifth.
