The Rams had a strong showing at the Dubuque Invitational on Saturday as it saw nine wrestlers finish in the top three with freshman Scotty Scheidecker placing first at 157 pounds to lead the Rams to a second-place finish.
The Rams finished in second place after scoring 95.0 points just behind Dubuque who scored 115.0 points.
Scheidecker had three straight pins on his way to the title as he pinned Brock Radeke of Dubuque in 2:05 for the win. The Rams finished with 12 pins total to lead all other teams in the event. His three pins were the most by any other wrestler at the event.
Five wrestlers finished in second place: freshman Jayden Rael (125), senior Jacob Ramirez (149), sophomore Jackson Gonzales (165), freshman Austin Wilkins (174), and freshman Jackson Brinker (285). Each second-place finisher for the Rams had at least one pin in their matches.
A trio of wrestlers secured third place: freshman Ayden Nicklaus (133), senior Cory Stewart (165), freshman Landen Schemmel (285).
