MVLPD camerasThe council approved video cameras for the police department and interview rooms at the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police Department for roughly $50,000. The $50,000 in cameras was part of the costs of the remodel of the police department.
“We left the equipment off the bids of the original project,” said city administrator Chris Nosbisch.
Police chief Doug Shannon said sticking with Motorola would allow the camera equipment in interview rooms and squad cars moving forward, and switching from Motorola would come at significant costs.
“They have started to get things back online,” Shannon said.
Website contract addendum The council also approved an additional $5,500 to DeNovo to have the website developers to write the content for the new website. Laura Eckles had been in charge of the project but moved on to another job.
City administrator Chris Nosbisch said it would help keep the project on track and remove one item he was currently going to be the contact person for the city.
“I’ll still need to do some communication with city staff on deadlines and with Denovo, but it wouldn’t be as intensive,” Nosbisch said.
Council member Stephanie West said this would keep the momentum of the project and it on time to be delivered on time, but hoped the new website would be set up in time for Chalk the Walk.
“It’s a much cleaner website than what we have currently,” Nosbisch said.
There’s some thoughts that went into the aesthetics of the site including headlines and texts.
