Battle of WaterlooFriday, Dec. 16The Battle of Waterloo was hosted by Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at Young Arena,
Though the team had some bright spots (more on those later), it was not the sort of battle the Lions were used to fighting.
“We had a tough weekend at the Battle of Waterloo,” said Lions head coach Brad Smith. “It’s the first time we can remember not placing at the Battle. We have two starters out with injuries, so our lineup at this time is not as strong as it could be,” he said.
Osage won the 32-team tournament.
Brandon Paez, Tiernan Boots, and Wyatt Smith all went 5-0 on the day. Paez, at 120 pounds, is now 22-0. Boots, at 138, is now 22-1. Smith, coming in at 285, improved to 21-0.
