LINN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board met in session at the Linn County Jean Oxley Public Service Center. Present: Chairperson Rogers, Vice Chairperson Zumbach and Supervisor Walker. Board members voting “AYE” unless otherwise noted.
Chairperson Rogers called the meeting to order.
The Board met to review the following proposed Fiscal Year 2024 budgets.
Present: Dawn Jindrich, Finance Dir., Sara Bearrows, Budget Dir., and Dustin Peterson, Veteran Affairs Dir.
Veteran Affairs – Proposed appropriations meet guidelines.
Peterson presented his budget overview, KPI’s as well as the following Offers:
• One Veteran Service Officer — $97,291.53
• One Income Maintenance Worker — $88,291.53
Motion by Rogers, seconded by Walker to approve Veteran Affairs FY 24 appropriations in the amount of $642,038 and revenues in the amount of $20,000.
Medical Examiner – Proposed appropriations are over the Board’s guidelines by $98,000 due to increases in medical examiner fees, ambulance fees and lab fees. Revenues are increasing by $50,000 resulting in a net general fund change of $48,000.
Motion by Rogers, seconded by Walker to approve Medical Examiner FY 24 appropriations in the amount of $860,800 and revenues in the amount of $75,000.
Finance & Budget — Proposed appropriation exceeds the Board’s guidelines by $4,300 due to the attendance at a NetSuite annual conference.
Jindrich presented budget and KPI’s and Bearrows presented a Capital Improvement project which is a new solution that would replace WorkDay Adaptive. This will streamline the process and free up time for them to do more budget analysis. There is no budget impact.
Motion by Rogers, seconded by Walker to approve Finance & Budget FY 24 appropriations in the amount of $800,666.
Chairperson Rogers commended Jindrich and her staff for their dedication and the culture they have developed.
Civil Service – Proposed appropriation meets the Board’s guidelines.
Motion by Rogers, seconded by Walker to approve Civil Service FY 24 appropriations in the amount of $19,244.
