Leashed dogs welcome
on Cornell campusDogs are welcome on Cornell College property, but those dogs must be on leash, in accordance with the Mount Vernon Code of Ordinances. Those leashes need to be physical leashes. Owners must also pick up after their animal while on campus. Cornell College property includes the entire campus–the Hilltop and surrounding college property, soccer fields, and other athletic spaces. Failure to abide by these rules can result in the banning of a dog, and the owner, if the conduct persists.

Recreation boys basketballLisbon Parks and Recreation boys basketball registration is now open. Boys in first through sixth grade can sign up at www.cityoflisbon-ia.gov and at City Hall. Registration deadline is Friday Dec. 23.
Lisbon Parks and Recreation has added an intro to boys basketball camp for all first through second grade boys.

Pinhook Players Pajama
Story Time at Lisbon LibraryMount Vernon-Lisbon Community Theatre’s Pinhook Players will present a Pajama Story Time at Lisbon Library Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. Players Kim Benesh and Amy White will share a book, a puppet show and some songs with children and their caregivers. All are invited to wear their pajamas to this free event.
