Matt Warfield, Deputy Auditor, presented a request for the Board to order a recount of votes for State House Representative District 73 election held on November 8, 2022 pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 50.48(1a). The deadline for this recount to be finished is December 5.
Motion by Rogers, seconded by Walker to order a recount of votes for State House Representative District 73 election held on November 8, 2022 pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 50.48(1a).
Discussion: Supervisor Walker asked about the vote difference and Warfield stated that it is roughly a little over 300.
Chairperson Rogers asked how long the recount will take and Warfield stated that it all depends on if they decide on a hand count or a machine count. A machine count could take two days and a hand count would be a struggle to finish on time.
Supervisor Walker asked what happens if not completed by December 5th and Warfield stated that he asked the Secretary of State for guidance on that and was told that it is to be done by December 5th. VOTE: All Aye
Darrin Gage, Dir. of Policy & Admin., presented an Agreement between Linn County and Emergent Architecture for the development of drawings and specifications for the Jean Oxley Public Service Center Treasurer’s Office Glazing: Physical Protection Project.
He has also requested a small area on 3rd floor. The Board will approve on Wednesday.
