The Mount Vernon varsity football crew was recently recognized with 2022 Class 3A District 4 All-District honors, with the Mustangs coming in first in team standings.
In all, 13 Mustang athletes were acknowledged.
“Obviously, it’s great to have kids recognized at the end of the season, both by the district and state,” said head coach Lance Pedersen.
“We had a lot of deserving kids. The only problem is, you can’t recognize them all, but we’re very proud of the ones who were recognized.”
Junior Joey Rhomberg was named first team all-district team in the role of quarterback. He was also named the offensive player of the year.
Seniors Henry Ryan at defensive back, Clark Younggreen as offensive linebacker, and Zatyk Holub as linebacker were also named to the first team. Younggreen was also named the offensive lineman of the year.
