Stuff the BusNewsradio WMT will once again “Stuff the Bus” as they collect donations for the holiday season. Donations stay locally, going to the Southeast Linn Community Center.
Stuff the Bus will occur Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 9-11 a.m. at Bauman’s in uptown Mount Vernon.
People are encouraged to donate new toys, warm clothing, blankets or cash to help the cause any time prior to and all day Tuesday, Nov. 29.
All donations will assist SELCC’s holiday distributions.
Thanksgiving closures Mount Vernon City Hall and Lisbon City Hall will both be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Trash pick-up held on Fridays in Mount Vernon will shift back a day (Friday’s pick-up will be Saturday, Nov. 26), due to the holiday.
In Lisbon, trash collection will also be delayed by a day due to the holiday. Instead of Thursday, Nov. 24, trash will be picked up Friday, Nov. 25.
Project 60 Lisbon’s Project 60 is coming up Dec. 8. Registration sign-up is Thursday, Dec. 1 by calling 319-455-2106. Doors will open at 10:45 a.m., with meals being served at 11:30 p.m. Musical entertainment as well as Bingo will also among activities at the event for seniors aged older than 60.
