concert November 30University of Iowa School of Music professors Courtney Miller (oboe), Volkhan Orhon (bass), and Rene Lecuona (piano) will perform a concert in Heritage Hall Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.. Come enjoy this free performance and see why professional musicians want to play in our beautiful space with the fabulous acoustics.
Nutcracker Workshop Dance Arts Iowa will be hosting a Nutcracker Workshop Saturday, Nov. 26, during the Shop Small Saturday events in uptown. The clinic is open to dancers ages 3-6 and 7-9. The workshop will run from 10 a.m. to noon in First Street community Center.
Attendees will learn ballet technique, complete a nutcracker craft, watch a small clip of the Nutcracker and then learn a dance from The Nutcracker.
Cost of the workshop is $35, with all proceeds goign to the production of The Nutcracker. Funds will be used to purchase costumes, backdrops and assist with rental fees. Participating families will also recive one complimentary ticket to Dance Arts Iowa’s performance of The Nutcracker.
