Lisbon Lions standout athlete Ryleigh Allgood signed a national letter of intent at the school Wednesday, Nov. 9, to play softball at Upper Iowa University.
The 2023 graduate has played varsity softball since she got to high school, which she credited partially to longtime coach Bob Bunting believing in her.
“Hi everyone, thank you for coming to my signing,” Allgood said to the more than two dozen people assembled. “I just wanted to say thank you to the people who got me here, my mom and dad,” she said, as she sat between the pair.
“Ever since they introduced me to softball, I really liked it. And, even though I’m a pitcher, I like to play outfield,” she said, to laughter of recognition from those who knew her well.
“I wanted to also give a special thanks to all the coaches who helped me,” said Allgood, including Bunting and her pitching coach, “Coach Amy”.
“It’s what got me here,” the Lions senior said.
