The Mount Vernon Mustangs are bound for the UNI Dome Saturday, Nov. 12, to play in the Class 3A playoff game. The Mustangs will take on Humboldt at 7 p.m. in Cedar Falls in the semifinal match. The winner of that match advances to the Class 3A championship game against the winner of ADM versus Harlan to be played Friday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m.
The Mustangs continued their undefeated season with another win against Solon Friday, Nov. 4. The Mustangs lived up to their mascot name, trudging through wind and rain at First Street Community Center Field to deliver a 17-0 rout of Solon Friday evening to keep their championship play alive.
