Painting of city streets continues as weather permits
Public works crews will continue painting parking lines and center lines in Lisbon as the weather permits.
Public works director Travis Bagby said that there may be a few crosswalks that do not get painted before the snow falls this year, and any that are left unpainted will be finished next spring.
“We’ve already placed our order for paint for next year in hopes it will arrive on time,” Bagby said.
The Lisbon Early Childcare Center parking lot was painted for Lisbon Schools.
The public works department is also finishing tree plantings and will be shifting to cleaning up leaves.
Work on Destination Iowa grant continues
Members of the Lisbon Tree Board and parks and recreation are continuing their application for a Destination Iowa grant.
City administrator Brandon Siggins said the project will include barn renovation work that needs to be completed, trail projects and other work being developed for the new nature park that hasn’t begun.
“The group is working on targeting below $500,000 and working towards the deadline for the state for that project,” Siggins said.
