Lions ClubThe Mount Vernon Lions Club met on Monday, Oct. 24, at Whitey’s Restaurant in Lisbon. There was no formal program for the meeting, but Justin Dix gave an update on the Club’s tree planting project for the next couple of years in celebration of the Club’s 100 year anniversary. He and Bernadette Lane met with the cities of Mount Vernon and Lisbon and their Parks and Recreation committees and also the Mount Vernon School District to go over their needs in anticipation of writing a grant to Lions Club International for the project.
Justin also reported on Kids Sight screening that he and Mike Cranston did at the Mount Vernon Elementary School.
The next Lions Club meeting will be November 28. also at Whitey’s.
